Vienna Christmas Market at Rathausplatz

When the town hall square is bathed in a sea of lights, it's time for the famous Vienna Christmas Market on the Rathausplatz. This market in the heart of the city is one of the most beautiful in Europe and offers everything your Christmas heart desires. Drink a delicious mulled wine, indulge in winter delicacies or browse the decorated stalls for those last few Christmas presents. Another highlight is the Vienna Ice World, where you can skate to your heart's content on 3,000 square metres of ice. Bring your own skates or rent some on site and hit the ice!

Spittelberg Christmas Market

From 16 November, the Spittelberg Christmas Market opens its doors and invites you to experience the magic of Christmas. Take a leisurely stroll through Stiftgasse, Schrankgasse, Spittelberggasse or Gutenberggasse and let the magic of Advent enchant you. This year, the organisers and traders are once again focusing on the climate, so all products will be fair, regional, organic, sustainable, vegan or vegetarian.

Christmas Market at Schönbrunn Palace

The magical Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace is a must for romantics and families. A small winter wonderland has been created in front of the imposing palace. The illuminated stalls sell all kinds of handicrafts, small gifts and sweet treats. Food and drink are also available: almonds, chestnuts and mulled wine are all on offer at this Viennese Christmas market. If you come with the kids, there are lots of fun attractions including an ice rink, a children's train and a traditional handicraft workshop.

Altwiener Christkindl Market

Let yourself be enchanted by the genuine Viennese Christmas atmosphere at the Altwiener Christkindl Market on Freyung. Winter market at the Riesenradplatz

What would a holiday in Vienna be without a trip to the Prater? The Prater is especially beautiful during the Christmas season, when the Winter Market at the Riesenradplatz (Ferris Wheel Place) begins and the whole place is filled with the magic of Christmas. The Winter Market at the Riesenradplatz is a fantastic mix of fairground, entertainment and classic Christmas market. As well as colourful stalls, Christmas delicacies and punch, you can enjoy a lively programme of stage shows and concerts. Be sure to take a ride on the famous Giant Ferris Wheel for the best view of Christmas Vienna!
